About Ahmed Ahmed, MD

Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed is a fetal interventionist and medical geneticist dedicated to improving outcomes for high-risk pregnancies involving complex fetal conditions and anomalies. As Co-Director of the Cleveland Clinic Fetal Care Center and Director of Obstetrical Ultrasound and Prenatal Diagnostics within the Obstetrical and Gynecology Institute (OGI) and Children’s Hospital, Dr. Ahmed leads a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering exceptional, comprehensive prenatal care for complex fetal cases.

Quadruple board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Medical Genetics and Genomics, and Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Dr. Ahmed earned his MD from Alexandria University’s Faculty of Medicine in Egypt. He completed his first residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Alexandria University, followed by a second residency training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He then pursued a dual fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Medical Genetics at Wayne State University and The Perinatology Research Branch (NICHD) in Detroit, MI.

Dr. Ahmed’s expertise encompasses prenatal ultrasound, fetal intervention, and the diagnosis and management of fetal anomalies. He leads these efforts at Cleveland Clinic with a commitment to delivering personalized, evidence-based care and providing innovative treatment options to support families navigating complex pregnancies.

With a passion for innovation in fetal medicine, Dr. Ahmed earned a Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence from the University of San Diego’s Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering. His unique combination of expertise in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Medical Genetics, and Artificial Intelligence enables him to spearhead advancements at Cleveland Clinic in prenatal diagnostics, reproductive genetics, and the integration of AI in healthcare, contributing to pioneering developments in the field.

In addition to his clinical and academic leadership, Dr. Ahmed is an accomplished researcher and author. He has published numerous research papers in the fields of maternal-fetal medicine and prenatal diagnostics.
