He has a firm grasp of the life-support technology, including knowledge of ventilators, airway management, resuscitation in the delivery room and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), techniques of vascular access and expertise in critical procedures such as insertion of chest tubes, breathing tube, lumbar puncture, pericardiocentesis and paracentesis. He has an exceptional experience of taking care of the premature babies who have a unique set of life-threatening medical problems.

His studies focus on either identifying risk factors to prevent newborns' suffering in the first place, or to come up with a test (a biomarker) to early diagnose the disease.
