To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

This was a second opinion for after my first appt was with another hospital system. There is nothing bad I can say about my first appt with another hospital system and doctor. However Dr Raza won myself and my wife over. He is the kindest most caring doctor I have met. He wanted me to talk first and explain everything about what I had been going thru and how I was diagnosed with my Myeloma. He talked about my case and the test results without having any notes or computer in front of him. He was kind and caring, but was confident and comforting if that makes sense. He acted like he knew me and like he had been my Doctor for a long time. My wife and I knew when we left his office that he was the Doctor for me. I have chosen to have Dr Raza and the Cleveland Clinic take care of me going forward. Again I want to say the other Doctor at the other Hospital system did nothing wrong, it was all Dr Raza.
