Phoebe Lin, MD, PhD, graduated summa cum laude, Biochemistry, from Washington University, AOA with Honors from the MD/PhD program at the University of Illinois, then completed ophthalmology residency at UCSF, a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Duke University, and a uveitis fellowship at Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University. At Cole Eye Institute, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, she performs clinical care in ocular inflammatory and retinal diseases, vitreoretinal surgery, educates residents and fellows, and performs research identifying novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of ocular inflammatory disease and macular degeneration. Specifically, her lab utilizes animal models of uveitis (an inflammatory condition of the middle lining of the eye) to address several pathways: leukocyte migration in autoimmune uveitis, immune regulation as a target for autoimmune uveitis, and the role of the mammalian commensal intestinal microbiota in intestinal immunity and systemic immunity affecting the development and mitigation of ocular inflammation. Dr. Lin’s lab is also investigating the impact of an intestinal dysbiosis that occurs in age-related macular degeneration, a disease that is caused by disruptions in innate immunity and fatty acid metabolism. She has published over 100 articles, book chapters, and books.

I love Dr Lin. She is very empathic and cares about her patients
Reviewed on Oct 25, 2024
She never washes her hand uses foam. She goes right to computer looking over tests, you know that she has taken about 1 minutes to look at, and start to leave the room, you are definitely not a person to her. No you can barely believe that you are treated like this, much less try to ask quick question. That you can tell she dosent want to answer.

Although I repeat my concerns each visit, Dr Lin is always patient with me and continues to go over my care and planned treatment each month I see her
Reviewed on Apr 30, 2024
Everything was great except for the wait time once I arrived. I think for a simple procedure 2 hours just to get to see the doctor is way too long. Many visits are an hour and a half, but far too many are 3 hours or more! I saw people walk out!
Reviewed on Apr 26, 2024
My first visit with Dr Lin was great and it was nice to know that she has been in touch with my previous caregivers and is aware of my situation. My second appt was a bit frustrating, due technological struggles, images are not able to be shared so I am starting over on 'setting a baseline' and after a full day of testing and appointments there was no discussion around treatment, progression of my disease, or anything - it was just said that we were doing good to establish a good baseline and that was that furstrating since I have been seeing someone for this for 5 years now and have plenty of history set.

Very disappointed. Dr. Linn was running over an hour behind. She appeared frustrated with the questions I asked and not caring at all. The nurse was much more helpful and kind.
Reviewed on Dec 19, 2023
She's awesome, but most she talks over my level of knowledge, so makes it difficult for me to understand. I don't know the differences in what eye injections I'm getting, so I just have to trust her level of expertise. She tends to get "frustrated" with me for not being able to keep up with her.
