Biography

About Hamlet Gasoyan, PhD

Dr. Hamlet Gasoyan is a health services researcher at the Center for Value-Based Care Research in the Department of Internal Medicine of Cleveland Clinic’s Primary Care Institute and assistant professor of medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. His research focuses on value-based care, health disparities, and health outcomes with clinical applications to obesity, cancer, and related chronic diseases. The goal of his research is to help develop evidence-based recommendations for patient-centered care, improve population health outcomes, and control healthcare costs. Dr. Gasoyan’s studies have been published in leading medical and health policy peer-reviewed journals and received coverage by national and local news organizations such as Reuters, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Newsweek. His research has been funded by the National Cancer Institute.

Dr. Gasoyan received a PhD degree in health policy and health services research from Temple University, an MPH degree with a concentration in health care organizations and management from the University of South Florida, and a Doctor of Stomatology (dental/oral medicine) degree from Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia. He also completed postdoctoral training in health services research at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Before transitioning to an academic career, he practiced dentistry and provided healthcare policy-related consultancy to governmental and non-governmental organizations.
