About Ammar Saati, MD, FACP

Ammar Saati, MD, PhD, FACP, FSVM, is a staff physician in the Section of Vascular Medicine of the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. He sees patients at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, Richard E. Jacobs Health Center and Middleburg Heights Family Health Center.

Specialty Interests: Vein procedures, point-of-care ultrasound, arterial, venous and lymphatic vascular diseases, chronic venous insufficiency, deep vein thrombosis; varicose veins, including ambulatory phlebectomy, endovenous ablation treatment and sclerotherapy

Experience: Dr. Saati is experienced in the diagnosis and management of all forms of vascular disease. He is particularly interested in point-of-care ultrasound to improve patient outcomes and has expertise in sclerotherapy, including ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, endovenous laser ablation and micro-stab phlebectomy for varicose veins.

Dr. Saati is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Society for Vascular Medicine and is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation.

Education: Dr. Saati is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, Umm Al Qura University, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. He completed his internal medicine residency at King Khalid National Guard Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After relocating to the United States, he completed a second internal medicine residency with Catholic Health System, University at Buffalo, N.Y.  He served as chief resident during the final year of both his residencies.

After completing his residency with Catholic Health System, Dr. Saati was a hospitalist with Kent Hospital, Care New England, Warwick, R.I., for five years. He then accepted a fellowship in point-of-care ultrasound at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, followed by a vascular medicine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Saati joined the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2022 on completion of his vascular medicine fellowship.

Research, Publications and Speaking: The application of point-of-care ultrasound to improve the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases is one of Dr. Saati’s primary clinical research interests. He was invited to lecture on this subject at the 2022 meeting of the American College of Physicians in Chicago. He has coauthored research papers published in peer-reviewed medical journals and has presented scientific abstracts at local, regional and national medical meetings.

Dr. Saati exhibited great technique in medical care and I am amazed how skillful he is with follow-up examination of myself. I remember the excellent care taken by Cleveland Clinic personnel 20 years ago following her heart bypass surgery there and I am amazed at the level of affordable service is still exhibited 20 years later. Cleveland Clinic is number 1 in my opinion.
