Biography

About Debkalpa Goswami, PhD

Debkalpa Goswami, Ph.D. is the Director of Biomechanics at the Cardiovascular Innovation Research Center, in the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at the Cleveland Clinic. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. His research group focuses on combining soft robotics, 3D printing, biosensing, and computational tools to build advanced physical and digital biomechanical models of cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Goswami received his Ph.D. from Purdue University and completed his postdoctoral training in Medical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has previously held research positions at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, and the University of Bremen, Germany. He was named to the Cleveland Clinic staff in 2023.
