Dr. Andrew Kern-Goldberger, MD, MSCE is a Staff Physician in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), and research investigator in the Cleveland Clinic’s Center for Value-Based Care Research and Department of Quantitative Health Sciences. Dr. Kern-Goldberger received his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency training at Columbia University Medical Center – New-York Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. He then completed a Research Track fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was awarded a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE) degree at the University of Pennsylvania. During his fellowship training, he also served as an Editorial Fellow at the Journal of Hospital Medicine.
As an academic pediatric hospitalist, Dr. Kern-Goldberger's clinical practice and research are broadly dedicated to understanding and improving the delivery of healthcare to hospitalized children. He has a particular interest in physician referral patterns, high-value care, and de-implementation of overused practices.
Dr. Kern-Goldberger is board-certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine and is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Society of Hospital Medicine, and Academic Pediatric Association.
