Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 9/17/2024, Dr. Tarpe has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Reviewed on Jun 3, 2024

She was short asked a few questions about my meds and that was it. No exam, no question about my past blood work with the high cholesterol no order for repeat blood work I had to tell her I needed to get a mammogram. I was trying to find a new pcp and she will not be it. After my long wait time she actually spent 6 minutes with me. Not even a corncern of my surgery that I had a week before visit.

Reviewed on Apr 30, 2024

I am very satisfied with the experience when attending my appointment with Dr. Tarpe.

Reviewed on Apr 23, 2024

I was not seeing her for a problem and no treatment was needed

Reviewed on Mar 18, 2024

The doctor spent very minimal time with me. I scheduled a physical and she told me it was only a meet and greet. She didn't perform a physical and only scheduled bloodwork for me. She told me she didn't have time because she had other patients. I will not be scheduling any follow ups with her.

Reviewed on Feb 26, 2024

Dr. Tarpe continues to completely exceed expectations and I am very fussy. I have been very busy at work but plan to write a detailed letter of praise on her treatment of my issue.

Reviewed on Feb 12, 2024

No return calls needed; however, the wait time it took to schedule an appointment to see the doctor was most inconvenient. It seems to be the norm these days to see a doctor. Very discouraging

Reviewed on Feb 12, 2024

Difficulty understanding her - and she doesn't prescribe certain meds which made the visit pointless. This should be told when scheduling the appointment that she doesn't write for controlled substances.
