Industry Relationships

I was extremely pleased with the fact that Dr. Olivares listened to me when I described my strong reaction to lidocaine (and many drugs) and opted for more lubricant instead. The cystoscopy went well and I had no undesirable side effects.

Doc Ruben Oliveria is extremely patient oriented and thorough with his diagnosis and treatment guidance. Not that I would say needing to go to a doctor for an alignment is something to look forward to, however Ruben Oliveria was excellent and provided a memorable positive patient experience! I would recommend Doc Ruben to anyone with a prostate concern!

On 6/5/2024, my video appointment, I had only been advised a few days before the scheduled meeting. I had to setup the zoom account. Unfortunately, on the day of my appointment, I started my appointment at 10:15 and waited to conntect withI with Dr. Olivares for the appointment. I was not late for the appointment cause I couldn't connect with the Cleveland Clinic site. I would like to request that his statement that I was no show for the appointment be removed from my-chart account. I contected his office to explain what had happened and the nurse relayed this information to the doctor. He then called me, via telephone, to discuss my plan of care for my issue. I was very pleased for the speedy response from him.

The nurse working with Dr. Olivares, Jeff, is exceptional. Beyond being good in the strictly medical aspects of his work, he was very personable and caring. In terms of Dr. Olivares he, too, is exceptional, he was medically/surgically excellent but beyond this, he took care in explaining every step of the before, during and after the procedure. He is an exemplary clinician.

The entire appointment was conducted in a professional, yet empathetic manner. His staff treated us with courtesy and respect. I personally believe that Dr. Ruben Olivares should be Teaching, Instructing in areas of Hospital etiquette or bed side manner! He has a very inviting mannerism of trust and instilling confidence to allay fears, doubt and anxiety. I wish I'd had him years ago, he imparts much digestible information to the patient ( myself) so as to elevate their level of comfort before and during whatever procedure surgical or otherwise. What an honest true gem at Cleveland Clinic Hospital. If I were a producer I would make a movie about this doctor, his personality is so sincere and respectful of the dignity of his patients ( my dignity).

Dr. Olivares started with a basic explanation of anatomy (with hand drawings) and moved on to the pros and cons of various treatment options, which he was very frank and open about. The information he gave was much more complete than what I had received from my previous provider, and he was more concerned about getting as much information (through imaging) as possible.
