Industry Relationships
Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 11/21/2022, Dr. Kerns has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Again, exceptional care and service. I was seen in a timely fashion but was not rushed. In time and out time was like clockwork. The doctor and attending staff were extremely courteous and professional. Very happy I chose Cleveland Clinic.

I have already told others how good my experiences have been. Would definitely recommend Dr. Kerns and Cleveland Clinic.

Dr.Kerns is an exceptional physician and an asset for the Cleveland Clinic. I must say she is shoulders above the physicians that I have encountered at the clinic, except for ER physicians, as she listens carefully, takes into account your perspectives on the issues and competently considers the many differential diagnoses and explains and documents findings from tests and assessments. Treasure her as I know CC can be hard on their medical and nursing staff.

Dr Kerns and her staff were very nice. I flew in from Kansas City for this appointment. The doctor's visit was the one that was very easy and straightforward. While taking the skin biopsy, Dr Kerns, the Nurse assistant and the Resident were all there talking to me and making me comfortable. Sincerely appreciate

Seemed like appointment was a little rushed but the provider was nice and performed a thorough exam of skin. I thought a dermatologist might also check nails and hair for possible autoimmune condition.

Both doctors were very professional, informative and efficient. My follow up call was quick. Looking forward to continuing my skin care at Cleveland Clinic. Highly recommend

I absolutely loved Dr. Kerns. She was very kind and patient. The issue I was having was in process of resolving and then she took time to explain about another issue I was experiencing and bring it full circle. We had a lovely time discussing the spelling of our first names as they were the same. What a joy filled time! I wish she was located slightly closer to my home on the east side. She was just wonderful!

I don't think I've had a more positive experience with a Dr, ever! Dr Kearns was prompt, kind, thorough, extremely knowledgeable, I could go on. She was patient with me, and discussed all my questions until I understood what my scenario was and how to continue care. I drive from Youngstown to see her, and I'd drive farther if need be! So glad I opted for CC! I will likely be switching all my care providers here as well.

She introduced herself to my back as she came in the room and did not take more than 5 mins with me. She did not explain much nor elicit any questions about my condition.
