Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 1/2/2024, Dr. Wong has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. The only negative I can take from this is after reading my post visit write-up up Dr Wong recorded jokes I made in the appointment. I thought it was strange to see that recorded in my medical record. In future visits, I will keep the dialog to simple yes and no. Was a bit put off by how that was done.

I'm appreciative that Dr. Wong went over thing with and learned that my issue was out of her scope and made sure I was scheduled with a Dr that could assist me. It would be nice to have more Dr's to release patients rather than trying to diagnose something out of their will house

Dr Wong is very impersonal. Does not listen and lectures/threatens to try for results to please her

Reviewed on Jan 10, 2024

Dr Wong is very impersonal. She does not listen she almost threatens to get results she wants. I would very much like to find a new PCP but none available. She lectures not taking into consideration what I have said nor my family health history. Would not recommend her

Why the heck does Dr Wong want to see me every 3 months.

Reviewed on Dec 21, 2023

I am looking for another doctor. I love my cardiologist. He is the one who prescribes my meds. I gate dealing with my chart. I don't like dealing with electronics. I am out of town a lot a Dr Wong wants to do virtual appointments WHY billable hours. No one in my family or my friends has a doctor that wants to see them every 3 months. They have more health issues then I do. What gives???

I was requesting consultation on a sinus / chest issue that continued to linger following a recent cold. I needed someone to listen to my chest and confirm that my lungs were clear. Tough to do on a video call. Telemedicine was Inappropriate for this need. Why did she ask to see my chest when I was wearing a shirt and sweater which I was not asked to remove??

Reviewed on Dec 7, 2023

See prior comments. In the "old" days, I would have walked into the office and the staff would have fit me in for a 5 minute doctor's visit. The system blocks quick and efficient action.

Dr. Wong is a caring. Knowledgeable, thorough physician, and I trust her.

Reviewed on Sep 15, 2023

Upon her entering the room I felt as she had no desire to be there and she just wanted to get the appointment over as quickly as possible. No temporary resolution to my discomfort. Was not personable whatsoever. Just a very cold person in general. My girlfriend who came in the room with me also felt that same impression from her

Dr Wong is an excellent doctor. She is always very thorough, even to the point of noticing things that others didn't. I highly recommend her.

Reviewed on Jul 18, 2023

The doctor has very poor listening skills. Apparently I had some kind virus but she didn't give me the name of the virus. Dr. Wong was very rude and appeared irritated whenever I asked her to explain anything. So I stopped asking and told myself is just wait to review the visit summary on My Chart. It took about a week before anything displayed and I was very disappointed to read I was told what was needed and next steps. The only thing Dr Wong explained clearly was for me to follow up with getting an eye exam.
