Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

I have been overweight most of my life, but this doctor was so encouraging with strategies. I could try that I actually felt I could continue to do. Since the visit I have lost a few pounds and it was not difficult. He gave me a reasonable six month goal that I feel I can do. I can't thank him enough.

Dr. Zhang did not introduce himself, barely looked at me during the visit, asked me few questions, hurried through things, and did not ask my opinion on treatment options. The after-visit notes by the doctor do not accurately reflect my visit. We did not discuss my current diet or exercise. He did not examine me, aside from briefly listening to my heart while I sat in the chair beside the desk. The visit lasted 15 minutes, at most. I left feeling very uncomfortable about the medication prescribed and how to proceed.

Dr Zhang is a wonderful doctor who cares about his patients. I went to Dr Zhang because I wanted to lose weight. There is no shaming or making you feel uncomfortable because you picked up weight instead of losing weight. He will encourage you, listen to what might have happened to you and steers you back towards your goal if loosing weight by giving you tips to help . I walked out of the office smiling encouraged and determined to lose weight. I Can't say enough good things about doctor Zhang. Cleveland Clinic have a lot of great doctors and he's at the top of my list.
