Biography

About Megan Beems, MD

Megan Beems, MD is an acute care surgeon specializing in trauma, surgical ICU care, and emergency general surgery. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin and her surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Michigan. She joined Cleveland Clinic in 2021.

Dr. Beems currently serves as the Director of the Hillcrest Hospital Surgical ICU, which cares for over 400 critically ill trauma and surgery patients every year. She is an Associate Director of Critical Care for Cleveland Clinic, facilitating high quality medical and surgical ICU care at Hillcrest, Marymount, Ashtabula, Euclid, and South Pointe Hospitals.

Dr. Beems is an active member of the Cleveland Clinic Ethics Ambassador Network as well as the Lifebanc Donor Council. She is a board member of the Cleveland Surgical Society, which brings together surgeons from across Northeast Ohio.

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education.
