Industry Relationships
Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

She often has to see MULTIPLE and ROTATOING doctors about a very personal issue and re-explain her concerns multiple times. Her actual doctor did NOT listen to her concerns (even mocking/laughing at her fear of having to swallow a larger capsule). Although she specifically requested the Rx be written for 2 smaller capsules (30mg), he laughed and ASSURED her they wouldn't be any larger and said to call and he would remedy the situation if there was a problem. AS EXPECTED, the pills WERE larger and Dr. Sanyal did NOTHING to help us... Even making US pay for HIS mistake in listening to my daughter's VERY SPECIFIC request. I am FURIOUS!!!!!

Dr. Sanyal was so thorough with my wellness check. He recommended and explained preventative health risks and was concerned about those risk factors. Most of all he was so compassionate about my low mood lately and recommended someone to talk with. He encouraged to reach out to him anytime with further concerns. I felt it was a positive doctor experience!

Dr. Sanyel called me personally with my results because he knew I was anxious about them. This is the exact reason my husband and I drive over an hour to access his services as our PCP.

Dr. Sanyal and his team of NP are extremely kind and good at what they do. They answer all of our questions, listen to our concerns and I feel like my child is being cared for. I can not say the same for the reception area. It seems to be there is a major lack of concern and communication. But the care of the Doctors is why we continue to return to this facility.
