Biography

About Selin Adams, MD

Since joining the Cleveland Clinic in 2021, Selin Adams, MD has been working at Fairview Hospital’s Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit, where she currently serves as the Medical Director. She is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with clinical interests in acute psychiatric care, psychiatric crises, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, catatonia, suicidal ideation, anxiety disorders, and trauma, including the impact of society and multigenerational trauma. Additionally, she is passionate about quality improvement, information technology, collaboration with schools and outpatient teams, and the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. 

Dr. Adams obtained her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Missouri University of Science and Technology summa cum laude and her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She completed both her Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. She is board certified in both Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and is an active member of American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Adams approaches each clinical encounter with empathy, compassion, humility, and a commitment to understanding the unique needs and experiences of every patient and family she serves. She is passionate about helping children and their families through difficult times and working with them to develop a foundation for their future.
