Kinanah Yaseen, MD is a staff member of Cleveland Clinic’s department of rheumatic and immunologic diseases. Dr. Yaseen is board-certified in both rheumatology and internal medicine and did additional specialty training in vasculitis. She has an interest in general rheumatic disorders as well as a special interest in relapsing polychondritis and different aspects of vasculitis especially small vessel vasculitis including granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener’s), microscopic polyangiitis, eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Churg-Strauss), IgA vasculitis, cutaneous vasculitis and drug induced vasculitis.
The majority of Dr. Yaseen’s practice is focused on patient care, however, she is also very active in teaching trainees about field of rheumatology and conducting small research studies. Her research interests include drug induced vasculitis, IgA vasculitis, and granulomatosis with polyangiitis.
Dr. Yaseen is originally from Syria where she did her medical school at the University of Tishreen, then moved to United States to start her medical training where she did her internal medicine residency at Fairview Hospital, Cleveland Clinic then she did her specialty training in rheumatology and vasculitis at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Yaseen has been amazing. She always takes the time to ask me a lot of questions to assess my health. She answers all of my questions no matter how much time it takes. Dr. Yaseen stays updated on the recent research on my disease and offers great insights into what I can expect. She has pointed me to the research and information available through the Vasculitis Foundation to help me and my family. Another thing that is so important to me is that if I message her, she responds very quickly. It has been a difficult year for my health but knowing Dr. Yaseen is overseeing my medical care is reassuring and makes me feel blessed for her and The Clinic.

We are still not sure, chicken or egg. Is back causing hips or hips causing back and if hips then what causing hips? Still diagnosing to do but Dr Yaseen has narrowed it down and invested much time in trying to help me.

I wish I lived closer so I could see Dr. Yaseen all the time as my primary rheumatologist. I believe her recommendations have enabled me to keep the vision in my right eye. (I had already lost the vision in my left eye when I started to see her.). She has gone to bat for me with insurance coverage for which I am very grateful. I live a full day's drive away in Roanoke, Virginia and cannot come every time in person. My husband, aged 78 years, has to drive me and driving 9 hours each way is difficult.

I was on vacation in New Hampshire when I videoconferenced with Dr Yaseen. This was converted from a face-to-face appointment that I had in Cleveland scheduled for the same date and time. I was told that I would have to wait until May 2024 if I wanted a face-to-face appointment with Dr. Yaseen, so I switched to a videoconference instead. This was the first time I had used a videoconference.

I just wish she had given me or I had asked about the tests and procedures that she suggested and how soon I should try to have them done after my visit. I left thinking that they should be done right away and was told by my local doctor that really nothing had to be done right away and maybe some didn't really need to be done at all.
