Education: Dr. Al-Bawab earned his medical degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in Irbid, Jordan, his native country. He completed his internal medicine residency and a fellowship in cardiology at Ascension Providence Hospital, Southfield, Mich., serving as chief fellow during his final year of training.
Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2020, Dr. Al-Bawab was in private practice in Toledo, Ohio, and was medical director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Mercy Health - St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio, and Mercy Health - St. Anne Hospital, Toledo, where he also was chief of the Section of Cardiology.
Research: Over the course of his career, Dr. Al-Bawab has participated in more than a dozen research studies primarily related to new treatments for heart disease, including atrial fibrillation.

Dr. Al-Bawab has an outstanding bedside manner. He is extremely friendly and approachable and took great care and time to examine me, answer all of my questions, and to give me good recommendations for my care going forward. He is very knowledgeable, and I have great confidence in having him as my cardiologist. I would recommend him for sure. He is an A+.

The doctor was very thorough and professional the computer system was out of order at the time of my appointment. I was concerned the doctor would not have access to my medical records. He informed that he arrived to work early that morning and reviewed all of my records and actually had recorded all of my information on his pad. I was very impressed and thankful.

The only downside is that unless other providers, 5here wlare NO visit details available from this consultation. I am diligent about tracking office visits, procedures, lab work and radiology reports. I will be requesting summary and treatment plan going forward.
