Jakub Sroubek, MD, PhD, is a heart rhythm specialist in the Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing Section of the Tomsich Family Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. He sees patients at main campus.

Experience: The Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing Section offers a variety of highly specialized approaches to diagnose and treat patients with heart rhythm problems (arrhythmia). The Section’s specialists annually perform nearly 6,000 procedures in the Electrophysiology Lab, including pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, ablations of various types of arrhythmias and cardioversions.
Dr. Sroubek’s clinical experience includes performing ablation procedures, implanting a variety of cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) and providing ongoing monitoring and care to patients who undergo these procedures. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease.

Education: Dr. Sroubek earned his medical degree and, simultaneously, a doctorate in molecular pharmacology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, New York, NY. He completed his internship and internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He served a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and completed his subspecialty training there as a fellow in cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Sroubek was named to the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2020.
Research, Publications and Speaking: Dr. Sroubek has published nearly two dozen papers in peer-reviewed medical journals on innovations in arrhythmia ablation and cardiac resynchronization therapy. He also has published scholarly papers in the field of molecular pharmacology and coauthored chapters in electrophysiology reference guides for physicians. Dr. Sroubek has presented abstracts and posters at leading national medical meetings, mainly focused on research related to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

Leisure Activities: In his leisure time, Dr. Sroubek enjoys his family, mountain hiking and playing the cello.
