Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 12/27/2021, Dr. Qazi has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr. Qazi is taking over my care from Dr. Click. I feel comfortable that he will provide the same quality care I have been receiving.

For the procedure being something that is not always pleasant, Dr Qazi does a fantastic job of being engaging, personable and explaining what is going on from start to finish of the procedure. He makes the experience as comfortable as possible and provides great care.

A quote from Doctor Qazi. I handled the inflammation, I did my job. Not my problem.

Reviewed on Aug 5, 2021

I sent several messages on MyChart and called several times to try to talk to Dr. Qazi because of an issue we were having getting my son's infusions scheduled. I never received a call or answer from June 6th until he had his appointment with Dr. Qazi on August 5th. His nurse, Valarie D. Refused to answer me.

Just amazing! Dr. Qazi is just amazing, a very concerning doctor who is determined to help you get better. I am very happy and blessed he is my GI. He saved my life

Dr. Qazi and his team were incredibly. They explained what they were going to do, and both nurses in the procedure room were very attentive to my needs.

My provider and the Staff was very concern about my problem.

Was canceled the morning of my appointment with Dr Cohen because he was ill, and I already had driven in from out of town. But Dr Qazi was wonderful to fit me into a schedule

Reviewed on Jul 6, 2021

Dr Qazi was excellent. First of all, he fit me into his schedule for the day as my appointment with another provider was canceled due to an illness, but I was already in town from New York. He listened very well. He clearly delinated my options for me. And he went above and beyond and got me an appointment that very day with Dr Hull, when he saw that surgery was a valid option for my condition

Reviewed on Jun 30, 2021

Dr. Qazi showed no willingness to take the time and listen to my concerns. He was rushing me so much that I forgot half the symptoms I wanted to discuss. He would not let me finish my sentences at times and talked over me without showing any respect. He typed away aggressively without even speaking with me properly. The way he behaved is unbecoming of a physician and there is no point in seeing a doctor like him. He maybe very knowledgeable but that does not help if he shows complete disregard for patients. He ordered some tests without even explaining why I need them. Disappointed to say the least. I'll definitely tell all my friends and family to consult any other GI doctor but him.

Reviewed on Jun 16, 2021

could have changed providers to get the appointment I wanted but chose not to do that.
