Dr. Perez Straziota was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, where she completed her medical school at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. After finishing medical school and providing primary care attention in rural communities in the Amazon Rainforest and Margarita Island, she moved to Atlanta, GA for ophthalmology residency, followed by cornea, cataract and refractive surgery training at Emory University. After her training she worked for 3 years providing ophthalmology care to a medically underserved community in Gainesville, GA, followed by a year of surgical practice and clinical research in a well known cornea practice in Beverly Hills: The Cornea Eye Institute, where she provided specialized cornea and cataract surgical care, and participated in clinical research on the newest treatment modality for Keratoconus: corneal cross linking. She then focused her surgical scope on corneal transplants and premium cataract surgery in a high volume cataract surgery practice, also in Los Angeles: Shammas Eye Medical Center.
In 2019 Dr. Perez joined us at The Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute, where she currently provides subspecialized cornea and premium cataract surgery care. She is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the Pan-American Society of Ophthalmologists (PAAO). She shares her surgical knowledge with young eye surgeons from all over the world through the ASCRS Young Eye Surgeons and the PAAO Young Ophthalmologists committees. She has written multiple book chapters and given lectures on Premium Cataract Surgery and Endothelial Keratoplasty in numerous national and international meetings throughout the years.

If not for the scheduler, doctor, and extremely long service time overall experience would be fair to good. Since it is the first person and last person that you speak to throughout the process it takes away from all the good care in between the two nightmares. And this is the sour taste we are left with.

I have a post-op situation (not CC) that your doc has been correcting as it comes up. Your office and docs have been professional and responsive. I'm at ease in this now even if it were to come up again.

She provides information and care professionally and quickly. You get the idea she is respectful of your time, we are trained not to expect that from physicians, but it is important to me.

Dr. Claudia Perez Strad. Is a wonderful, skilled person!!! She really feels bad when she runs behind. I'd rather wait a bit than feel like " just another patient." Pus, she's easy on the eyes!!!
