There was little to no discussion of dry MD treatments to prevent it getting worse. I plan to switch to University Hospital for all further treatment. I still don't know why preventative injections weren't recommended.

Dr. Talcott is the best. I came to Cleveland just for her. She is thorough, kind, and knowledgeable.

Reviewed on Sep 21, 2023

When I first met Dr. Talcott I was less than pleasant with her. I was very overwhelmed as I am in my 30s and have a long family history of retinal detachment, blindness, and cataracts. When I presented to her I already had laser intervention to correct retinal detachment on the right eye. The right eye still has the detachment and it is stable from the laser treatment. I reached out to Cleveland Clinic as I was having chronic floaters, flashers, and a black smokey colored curtain that would come and go after the laser intervention. Dr. Talcott assured me everything was okay in the eye and that the laser was doing what it was meant to by holding the fluid in place with the barrier and the detachment was stable. I unfortunately became escalated and voiced my concerns in a manner that was far from pleasant. She then assertively advised me that everything was stable and she would have me back in a week to check. Honestly, the way she handled thar interaction with me was what I needed because I was so incredibly scared that I needed a strong blunt reassurance. She was professional during the interaction. Then when I seen her the second visit I immediately apologized to her when she walked in the room for my actions and she was incredibly kind and empathic. I apologized to all her staff as well. Dr. Talcott has been very thorough when explaining everything to me. She ensures my treatment is presented in a way I can understand and my husband can. She will show me my images of my retinas on the screen and will walk us through verbally what she is looking for while doing so and move the cursor to show us what she is looking at. I am very particular about my eye care and drive almost an hour and half away to see Dr. Talcott because I have 1000 percent confidence in her. I appreciate her honesty, professionalism, but most of all her knowledge. I have recommended her to everyone I know in need of eye care. She is the only doctor I explicitly trust with the care of my eyes and it is a relief to find a doctor since my former eye doctor Kong T OH retired almost twenty years ago.
