Industry Relationships
Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 7/21/2023, Dr. Dashefsky has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. I just liked Dr. Dashefski and would recommend him to anyone with the kind of care he could provide. There wasn't a whole lot of interaction with other staff, but what there was was satisfactory.
Reviewed on Apr 3, 2023
Dr. Dashefsky was very impersonal. The only time he looked me in the eye was when he was examining them. He seemed frustrated when I asked him questions. He was very dismissive of my concerns about my condition. It left me feeling like I just have to live with medical issues that effect me every day. My leg jumped when he examined the lump near my spine. The MA in the room noticed it and he still dismissed it. Every time he left the room, I could hear him joke and laugh with staff so I know he has the ability to be friendly and personable. That should extend to patients as well. I sat in his office scared and worried and he made no attempt to put me at ease. He made no attempt to establish a rapport with me. I don't have other options for treatment. Dr. Dashefsky is one of only 2-3 doctors in the whole state that treats adults. I deserve courtesy respect and a doctor who can at LEAST be kind and cognizant of a patient's emotional needs.

Dr. Dashefsky has been invaluable in my treatment. However he sometimes doesn't listen as well as he could, and respect the amount of help that certain programs offer.
Reviewed on Jan 23, 2023
Dr. Dashefsky is a very caring and compassionate doctor. I can't explain what his concern means to me. He reaches out himself to talk to the patient and does not rely on a staff member to communicate the issue.

Dr. Dashefsky was outstanding. He genuinely cared about me as a patient and person and took the time to get to know me and learn about my family life, work life and other aspects of my life. In one visit we talked more than I have with my primary care doctor in 20+ years of his care. Definitely recommend Dr Dashefsky!!!
