Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 2/9/2021, Dr. Richards has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Richard's did an amazing job and made me feel very comfortable during a very uncomfortable procedure. He listened and took into consideration my past experiences with similar procedures and allowed me plenty of time to recover after. He as calming and reassuring. His assistant (I don't know her title) was great at taking care of me after when I didn't feel well. Great team!

I was extremely pleased with this visit. I felt he was listening to me and giving me candid and realistic advice. Often doctors talk down to you or pretend that your concerns are insignificant. Because they are MDs, you should simply trust them. With this doctor, I did not feel any condescension and his explanations were sincere and thorough. I really like him.

Dr. Richards provided me with a truly wonderful experience. He is an exceptionally intelligent, skilled, knowledgable, empathetic doctor, and Cleveland Clinic is lucky to have him. He spent considerable time talking with me about all of my options and providing me with substantial information to make informed medical decisions. I left my appointment feeling heard, valued, and informed. It is obvious that Dr. Richards is well read on the current research in fertility, and he makes it a point to practice with integrity and evidence-based decision-making. He truly cares about his patients and our well-being, and I will highly recommend him to other women struggling with fertility.

Kathy in the scheduling office at 216-839-3150 is an incredible person. She helped me get the appointment I needed after months of difficulty with another person. She gave me such peace of mind and was amazing. I am so grateful to her. She even contacted my doctor to confirm the date was acceptable and called me back to confirm that we were good to go. I am so thankful for her.
