Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 6/26/2018, Dr. Regala has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr. Regalia is the kind of doctor I have been trying to find at Cleveland Clinic for some time. She is caring and thoughtful. Explains why she is doing something, has explained to me somethings I feel I was given little to no explanation at all from previous doctors

my best experiences have been with Dr Regalia, therefore I would recommend her.

I have no complaints about Dr. Regala. I just moved over to the Cleveland Clinic and i can tell you it may be short lived. It is difficult to get appointments in a reasonable time frame. I called my primary care physician with a painful condition and had to accept a different doctor at a different location. not happy about that. Its like I am just a part of a herd of cattle.

I had been a patient here for many years and was devastated when my previous doctor left, she was excellent in my eyes. Well, I get the same vibes from Dr. M. Regala because I feel the true concern about what is going on with me and how we are going to make things better. I love that she took time for me...I didn't feel rushed and just another body sitting there. I truly believe that we are going to have a great relationship and get this old body back it shape.

After first visit I knew I could trust her; that's most important to me in a doctor/patient relationship.

Reviewed on Nov 8, 2018

I am a new patient and so not really sure how to answer most of the questions. Dr Regala was very friendly and interested in me and my issues and set up a plan for my current issue and then establishing a long term plan for assessing my health and moving on. I was very happy with the appointment.
