Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 2/6/2024, Dr. Majumdar has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. I have bounced around for months with a sinus/bronchitis project. Dr. Majumdar looked back in my records ask pointed questions and listened. I believe even though it was not his field solved what was causing the problem. Then he referred me to the proper person and gave me away to help until I get an appointment. He is an amazing, caring doctor, I am so grateful to him for his help.

This doctor seemed more in tune to me as a patient and any other doctor I've ever seen. He asked more concise questions than I have ever been asked before. He took a full history and kept asking questions! He was fully invested in me and I really appreciated that.

It was such a pleasure to have a Dr. That took time to look over all of my records and listen and explain everything so well. It would be nice to have more doctors like him. Would recommend him to anyone.

This appointment was for my Dad. I don't think we have ever felt so cared for by a Dr. Most of the time they come in check your blood pressure and say see you later. Dr Majumdar not only looked over his chart and past test results, but he asked questions and listened. He gave good and clear directions, next steps and an honest prognosis. He then called the next day to personally follow up and make sure we don't have any questions. He referred us to a specialist that might help us understand my Dads condition better as well. Wonderful Dr, probably the best I've ever seen.
