Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 9/14/2018, Dr. Pelle has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. DR. Pelle is excellent in surgery, and in office visits. Aftercare was excellent. He is a great Doctor, very professional and approachable. He's always friendly. 5 star!

I was very happy with my assignment to Dr. Pelle for consultation. He is personable, easily adjusts his explanations to the patient's level of understanding, and gave me several options for treatment. I feel like he will support me in my health care decisions regardless of which option(s) I choose. I can't think of anything I would change about Dr. Pelle, and look forward to seeing him again.

The Doctor really impressed me. He would ask a question and actually listen to the answer, before asking a follow-up question. It was a pleasure to meet him.

So far I love Dr. Pelle - although granted, he hasn't done my surgery yet. But he has given me hope, which I haven't had in awhile.

I have had numerous back surgeries in the past and Dr. Pelle did not automatically say "Let's do surgery" as many of my past doctors did. He's honest, up-front and very personable. I liked him right off. I live by the Indiana state line so the drive is not very pleasant for me.

The wait time for the Dr. was the longest, but I understand how that happens. I would rather he take his time with a patient than rush on to the next one.

I was told I had to get an X-ray before my appointment which I ended up not needing to do because I had an MRI, I was told this was because of triage who scheduled appointment. Then I had to wait a couple weeks to get into a doctor who I did not do disk replacements which I told the scheduler I wanted. I should have been scheduled with a neurosurgeon instead of the orthopedic which was a waisted appointment because I had to schedule then with a neurosurgeon. It was written in letter form when I sent my MRI in before they would even schedule an appointment. This was also unneccessary because the surgeon said I could have just brought it with me. Then when I told them I wanted to take it home with me at the appt. they said they didn't know where the original MRI was and it would take several weeks to get it returned to me. I also had to wait for the unneccessary X rays of my neck for almost 1 hour from my appointment time. Scheduling with a doctor was an absolute disaster!!!! and the worst experience I have ever had. I could not even talk with the office directly instead having to go through an appointment scheduler who had not a clue what I wanted and honestly didn't care. Just wanted me to mail in my MRI first and let doctors review it before scheduling me an appointment with the wrong doctor!!! This time took over 2 weeks before they called me to even schedule an appointment with the wrong doctor!!! This process was absolutely the worst and I begin to believe the whole hospital was run the same way and decided at that point I didn't want this hospital to do my surgery.

The appointment with the doctor was a better experience than trying to get an appointment.
