Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 10/3/2024, Dr. Mlynek has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Click here to view a listing of instances where Cleveland Clinic has identified a Public Health Service (PHS)-Reportable Financial Conflict of Interest and has put measures in place to ensure that, to the extent possible, the design, conduct and reporting of the research is free from bias.

Dr Mylnek is wonderful.

I was very impressed with my new therapist. She had wonderful bedside manner and really gave me all the time I needed to pose questions and feel comfortable with her answers.

I had a bad experience with a previous doctor in the same specialty. Dr. Mlynek was great and took her time even though I was her last appt of the day.

Reviewed on Oct 11, 2024

The Doctor was very kind and showed genuine concern for me. Her suggested treatment options are proof that she sincerely wants to help me. Also, she is a tentative listener and very supportive in her overall demeanor! I would highly recommend her to others.

My visit was wonderful, the Doctor was the best & knew her medical business. I will recommend her to many people. She was wonderful in her field. The best I ever had

This was my first visit with her. I was impressed by "bedside manner". She was a good listener, took thorough notes and gave me the time needed

Reviewed on Aug 21, 2024

It was impossible to receive a prescription I needed when I sent a med request. Dr. Mlynik was out of office. When she returned, and I was able to make an appointment with her, nearly 3 weeks after my original request, was when I finally was granted the prescription. That was unacceptable in anyone's eyes.

She was wonderful. It has been some time since I've had such a good experience with a doctor.

I have already recommended Dr. Mylnek. She was so very attentive. I felt "heard" and taken care of. I felt a little less afraid of facing my deep mental health Issues. I am very grateful I found her.
