Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 12/8/2017, Dr. Vlastaris has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. Dr. Vlastaris is awesome. She really took the time to help me understand my condition and provided great advice for taking care of the problem. The nurse was fantastic, very knowledgeable, and really seemed to care about my health. I would highly recommend Dr. Vlastaris to any person who was inquiring about a dermatologist. A+

Wait time was fine but with this provider I wouldn't care if I had to wait. I know she will give me the same care and thoroughness she gives to those before me. She is one of my all time favorite physicians due to her concern for and attention to her patients.

Felt she was superficial and hurried in this first appointment prescribing treatment - definite impression of "hustling" to sign me up for treatment course to rack up "scores" for her record, No time for me to ask questions - would like to have had 5 minutes of undivided attention when I could have asked questions.

Dr. Vlasteris was VERY clear about everything that was asked or done during my visit. She is friendly and empathic

Very helpful in getting me a follow-up appointment, as well as rescheduling an appointment in a different department. I didn't have to deal with your dreadful call-in appointment system that would keep me on hold.

Excellent doctor - how ever the scheduling team can use some patience.

I LOVED that she took notes for me to take away! Made me feel like she was genuinely paying attention and gave me reminders of what great advice she gave.

I love Dr. Vlastaris. She is exceptional in her field. Additionally, she is very personable, informative, caring, thorough.

Dr. Vlastaris and her staff are phenomenal!

Reviewed on Sep 12, 2017

I was very impressed with Dr. Vlastaris. I found her to be very thorough. She really listened to me, and went beyond my initial concerns to rule out more serious illnesses. Additionally, she personally called me to follow-up on my care - I cannot remember the last time a doctor personally called me. I saw a private practice dermatologist for many years, but now I hope to make Dr. Vlastaris my "permanent" dermatologist.

I received outstanding care!

I had a very pleasant experience.

Reviewed on May 10, 2017

Dr. Vlastaris was excellent. She took the time to hear about all my symptoms and made a list of issues to address as we work through this process. She noted drug interactions based on a new prescription and gave me time frames and details regarding follow-up tests. It is for this type of care that I changed from my former doctor. She came so highly recommended.
