Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 11/26/2017, Dr. Mendlovic has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Click here to view a listing of instances where Cleveland Clinic has identified a Public Health Service (PHS)-Reportable Financial Conflict of Interest and has put measures in place to ensure that, to the extent possible, the design, conduct and reporting of the research is free from bias.

The only waiting was to see the doctor, but I do relize he tries to spend the time he needs with each of his patients.

Dr. Mendlovic is a very wonderful, caring doctor. I've been a patient of his for over twenty years and haven't had a bad or crabby encounter. He is always more then willing to listen and try to get the proper things going. I completely trust him, and would not consider any other doctor. Thank you, Dr. Mendlovic for all your care!!

Dr Mendlovic did everything to put my mind at ease and so did his staff before, during and after biopsy he performed on nodule on thyroid.

*Dr. Mendlovic is a GOOD doctor. He is CARING, KNOWLEDGEABLE & KIND. Although I am sure he is busy, he does not seem stressed or impatient. He is VERY HUMAN, a trait I have not always seen.

Reviewed on May 1, 2018

The receptionist was very helpful in getting some specific information I needed and had a very caring disposition. Same for the lab person that took my blood. Dr. Mendlovic has always been supportive and takes all of the time necessary to answer my questions and concerns.

Reviewed on Mar 28, 2018

It is always a pleasant experience having an appointment with Dr. Mendlovic. He is courteous, thorough, caring and professional.

Reviewed on Feb 22, 2018

the doctor was courteous, but not very interested in why I was there. before he entered the exam room, he determined what he assumed I wanted from the appointment and he was pleasant was dismissive of my concerns/questions. he did not know that I had Hashimoto's disease and when lab tests confirmed that I did he didn't answer any of the questions he had previously put off... just told me my thyroid was not at a treatable level of dysfunction. i still have all the questions I arrived at the appointment with left unanswered.

Reviewed on Feb 1, 2018

My treatment plan is a collaborative effort. Dr Mendlovic gives me excellent direction but also keeps it sustainable, and doesn't have unrealistic expectations.

Reviewed on Feb 1, 2018

Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff!
