Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 9/10/2018, Dr. Ellison has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. I've had a doctor/patient relationship with Dr. Ellison for over 25 years and couldn't be more satisfied.

From arrival to departure was around 1 and 3/4 hours. Saw the Dr. about 5 minutes.

I had an appointment on a Monday that had to be cancelled because the provider was unavailable unexpectedly that day. I was able to reschedule for that week, which was nice.

I arrived at 10 for my 10:15 appointment. I was taken back to the first exam room at 10:20, and was in that room for about 30 minutes. I then spent over an HOUR waiting to see the physician, and that was less than 10 minutes for his exam. I did not leave until 12:30pm. It was a ridiculous wait, and the three patient in the waiting area were all waiting to see the same physician. We were not told how long it would be, and there did not seem to be anyone to take responsibility for the long wait. I used to see Dr. Ellison at another clinic before the Cleveland Clinic took over and I am disappointed he now is part of CCF, since he is a good physician. I am going to go to a different clinic for my checkup next year.

I experienced unusual discomfort after the exam was done and the numbing drops had worn off. I waited a few hours and then placed a call to speak to someone. My question was answered by the doctor in a timely manner and suggestions were made to make the discomfort so intense and the reason for the discomfort was explained and suggestions that if this had not improved by the next day that I should call the office and be checked again. The pain had subsided by the next day and no further problems were evident. It was a comforting experience. Thank you Dr. Ellison!

I love the doctor, but it does take a long time before you actually see him - see other professionals before seeing the doctor. But wouldn't change due to the fact that he is knowledgeable, congenial, and I have total faith in his abilities.

When my appointment was over, I told Dr. Ellison that when I wanted a new doctor, I called and was assigned to him. I am so pleased that he is my doctor. He is patient, interested ( we went to get a model of something he will use with my next surgery. What he tells me is easy to understand. I think he is very professional.
