Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 9/10/2018, Dr. Dash-Modi has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. staff and doctor were great

Reviewed on Oct 14, 2019

I chose Dr. Dash Modi because I previously learned she could also do Lasik if that was the appropriate treatment. Dr. Dash Modi appeared to be racing the clock. In her assessment she recommended I see a different Dr. for contact fitting, and another Dr. for my watery eye problem. Maybe 3 separate appointments is normal for the Clev. Clinic, but in my opinion that approach is very inefficient and inconsiderate of my time. I was uncertain the appointment ended as Dr. Dash Modi departed without saying goodbye. Maybe that would take too much time.

This was the most efficient office visit and scheduling ever! I'm a physician. I called the office around 300 pm and was instructed to come right now and Dr. Dash would see me. I arrived in 25 minutes and was seen promptly. The office staff was fantastic as usual. Dr. Dash was in to evaluate me promptly and fortunately everything was fine. This allowed me to put my mind at ease and I didn't have to cancel my Friday morning office in order to have my vision issue addressed. I can't say thank you enough for the outstanding service and care I received. I recommend Dr. Dash and her office to anyone who asks me for a recommendation for an ophthalmologist. This was above and beyond what I would consider standard of care. Kudos to this entire office and staff!

Great staff great Doctor

Reviewed on Feb 22, 2019

Dr. Dash did not remember me after being in the practice for more than 15 years. (The practice moved me to the optometrist in the last 2 years.) previously I had been her patient for 13 plus years. Also she rushed through my questions and had little awareness of my concerns or need for information.

Reviewed on Feb 22, 2019

The doctor seemed capable but did not listen. she seemed to have an agenda and was driving the visit that way. Only saw her for about 15 minutes or so. Would have been helpful to have had an introductory conversation since this was my first time seeing her. I don't know what the results of my placquinil test was since the focus was on having caterac surgery.

Reviewed on Feb 15, 2019

The doctor was really good about explaining the problems with having Diabetes and my eye sight. I would not have otherwise known some of these things without her explanation. She was very open in asking questions about the lenses I prefer as well
