Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

Dr. Alhilli is Great. I highly recommend her and her staff. Dr. Alhilli is very knowledgeable, professional and empathetic. She cares about me as a person and wants me to be comfortable with my options for treatment. I have/had many questions for her and she took the time to answer each of them patiently and so I could understand. I am very lucky to have her as my doctor/surgeon for my situation. She is one of a very few doctors who takes the time with you and makes you feel that your situation is important.

Dr. Al-Hilli took time to explain everything! Thank you

I was not expecting a biopsy at the time of this visit - but then, who is... That being said, I AM VERY Grateful that Dr. Alhilli is always leaning on the cautious side - when she sees something that she does not think looks OK. As my grandmother died from this very illness and at my age at this time. I am FOREVER grateful that she takes the time to make sure I am OK!!

Since I began treatment. With Dr. Ricci to begin, I have recommended the Cleveland Clinic cancer center as well as both Dr. Ricci and Dr. Alhilli to anyone who has been newly diagnosed and/or having any cancer treatment. I am grateful for both of my OBGYN Oncologists. Thank you.
