I had a very good experience at Cleveland Clinic and with Dr. Mayuga. Waiting 6 months for the appointment was difficult. I'm glad I didn't have a serious health issue.

The staff behind the desks were all extremely rude to me, every single person. One of them even yelled at me for being at her desk. But, the medical professionals were all phenomenal. Dr. Mayuga was the kindest, most thorough, empathetic doctor I've seen since getting sick a year ago. He listened to me & wants to figure out what's causing symptoms rather than just treat them. I couldn't have been happier.

Dr Mayuga is a great listener. I've seen 13 providers in a year and can say that most don't listen. It builds trust when providers listen yo their patients.

Difficult to get appointment with this doctor
Reviewed on Feb 1, 2024
In this particular case, my PCP was able to influence the ability of scheduling an appointment within a reasonable time. However, this is typically not the case as I have been told on most occasions that 6 months is the earliest to see a doctor. In my particular case, I am dealing with a severe heart issue and timing is everything.

Dr. Mayuga was excellent during the office visit, but did not clearly explain the treatment plan and next steps. Since leaving the clinic it has been difficult to schedule appointments or to understand what the treatment plan is and how we will proceed.

Dr. Mayuga is an excellent doctor and was a tremendous help and asset to me in my health care challenge that brought me to the Cleveland Clinic. I cannot say enough good things about his medical expertise as well as his kind and caring personality. He combined the best medical skills with the best personal care. It was such a blessing to feel comfortable and well taken care of under his care. I've struggled for two years and I finally felt that the understanding of and help for my issues were in a good facility and with great medical care.

Dr. Mayuga and Dr. Sullivan worked incredibly well together in aiding me to gain some answers that had been elusive for two years and medically I had been going backwards, not forwards. The testing, appt's and labs were all well meshed to gain the insight needed to bring some diagnosis, clarity and hope for future changes when a cure comes along as well as what I can work on between now and then to aid my chronic heart issue as well. Definitely the dream team duo for me.

The care was great but what is not is follow up care. I need to see another department and can't even get an appointment at all. Was told nothing is available and I have to be put on a wait list. No idea when I will be able to be seen. My treatment plan is on hold and I have no idea when I will get the help I need to reach diagnosis. (Autonomic neurology is dept that has nothing)
