Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 1/10/2018, Dr. Rao has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. I had to wait which is unusual. She must have had something serious happening. She is a doctor worth waiting for. I left the exam room happy because she provided such a positive attitude.

The wait time to see the provider was too long, but I was told ahead of time that it would be long and she was well worth waiting for. She is very professional andspends a lot of time with each patient. Maybe the time slots should be changed as opposed to judging her wait times.

Provider advised that I needed further testing and needed to be forwarded to another specialist in this area. However, getting an appointment with provider was 2 mos or more. Very uneasy feeling when you are advised to seek further testing.

This is my second visit with this provider. Both times running behind schedule by over an hour or more. No one comes in the room to advise of later wait time. Recent visit I had to go to PSR to see when did they think the provider would see me or I would need to reschedule. When provider finally came in the room, I feel the visit was rushed at that point. Explained current symptoms, and no sense of provider wanting to figure out what was going on. Just said go to specialist and have further testing

I felt the provider rushed through my appointment. I had several questions on how to make the lifestyle changes she suggested. Her response can be broken down into two words: google it. The changes I hope to make will be much more successful if I could receive the proper support to make them.

Dr. Rao is maybe the best Dr for diabetic care i have ever had experience with. Prior to her, my Dr. for endocrinology was Dr Hamrian, also at the Cleveland Clinic, and i was not happy when he left, because i thought i had very good results with him. Dr. Rao however even exceeds what i previously experienced. I credit her decision to try me on Victoza with having amazing results on my blood sugar levels and even assisting with my weight loss! i am simply VERY VERY happy to have her as my Doctor!

Dr.Rao is knowledgable, friendly and thorough. I could not ask for more in a healthcare provider. She diagnosed a problem I was suffering from for over a year and prescribed the right treatment. This resulted in complete recovery for me and an improvement in my overall health that may eliminate my need for prescription medication. I cannot thank her enough!

Dr. Rao was very thorough, detailed and kind. She made me feel like she was really looking out for my overall well-being, and wanted to get to the root of what I have been dealing with so it can be resolved. Absolutely excellent.
