Mark N. Rood, MD, is a Board-Certified Family Physician and provides medical care for acute and chronic conditions as well as preventative medical care for patients of all ages. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, and a fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine. In addition to his role as Section Head for Cleveland Clinic South Russell Family Medicine, he leads the Virtual Primary Care team for Cleveland Clinic Primary Care Institute.
Dr Rood has been active in medical education, has been teaching medical students for over thirty years and has been recognized with several teaching awards. He completed a Research Fellowship in 2009 at Case Western Reserve University focusing on improving how healthcare systems deliver care and served as a Family Medicine Research Fellow for the Cleveland Clinic Medicine Institute from 2015-2017 focusing on telemedicine quality using a large database obtained from a national telemedicine provider. He has been a leader in the development of Patient Centered Medical Homes in Northeast Ohio and has chaired committees to educate other physicians on this concept.
Dr. Rood has been an active researcher using Practice-Based research methods, mostly on the emerging field of telemedicine, and has led or participated in several local and national research studies in his career. He has co-authored 10 articles which have appeared in respected peer reviewed journals and delivered multiple presentations at national medical conferences.

I could not get thru to scehefule a same day or next day appt. The people answering the phones kept forwarding me to appt line. It was very frustrating. I wanted to speak with my PCP nurse but the people answering wouldn't put me thru Them after about 5th try I got mad and they connected me to a very responsive nurse who scheduled me same day with Dr Rood
