Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 12/23/2019, Dr. Weinberger has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. The doctor spent a lot of time with us. He took the time to get workout sheets for my son. I appreciate all the time he spent with us.

Was not able to get into primary doctor when scheduling a month or so out. I always forget I need to call several months in advance. (my teenage son will only see male physicians, just like my daughters only want to see female physcians - part of being a kid and feeling comfortable) However, the scheduling representative was very nice about this and helped find someone who was available by looking at several locations. I appreciated her understanding, not making us feel bad and willingness to help.

Dr. Weinberger spoke directly to my son when asking him questions and would occasionally look in my direction. Once he realized I expected my son to answer his questions he focused even more on my son which was great. He listened to my son and connected with him. You can tell he likes being a pediatrician and connects with his patients. My son had a concern and at the end of the appointment I should have clarified the recommended plan going forward. This is no big deal as I understood that if the issue continues to reach out to his office for a a specific specialty to see. When addressing the concern the doctor did not brush over it, it was just at the beginning of the appointment and I should have clarified at the end.

He always talks to you as a doctor, but also as a parent. There's not just a "do this" approach. It's usually, so here's some options, here's what I've done with my kids, what do you think? As a first time parent with zero child raising experience, this is always appreciated.

the best pediatrician I have come across at the clinic. when I informed the nurses in labor and delivery that he would be my new baby's Dr. they all said he is sought after and loved by other parents. He is the Dr. for my other two sons and when he moved offices I still drive 35 minutes to see him even though I live within 5 mins of a local Cleveland Clinic office because I didn't want to give him up as our primary pediatrician. He's the best.
