Biography

About Matthew Kaminski, MD

Matthew Kaminski, MD, is a cardiologist in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute and assistant professor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiography and echocardiography.



Dr. Kaminski’s specialty interests include preventive cardiology, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and cardiac arrhythmias in adults. He sees patients at Medina Hospital, the Cleveland Clinic Medina Medical Office Building, and the Cleveland Clinic Strongsville Family Health Center.



Dr. Kaminski received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, Ohio. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Cleveland Clinic. He has extensive post-graduate specialized training in cardiovascular imaging techniques, including trans-thoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology (SPECT and PET imaging), diagnostic heart catheterization, and stress testing.



Before his appointment to the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2012, Dr. Kaminski was a cardiologist with University Hospitals of Cleveland and on staff at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Ahuja Medical Center, Medina Hospital, Akron City Hospital, Akron General Hospital and Cuyahoga Falls Hospital. He is currently the Chairman of the Department of Medicine and medical director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Medina Hospital.



He has a number of professional publications and presentations to his credit and also has been an invited speaker for several public education programs on diabetes and the heart. Dr. Kaminski is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is a member of the American Heart Association and the American Society of Echocardiography.



In his free time, Dr. Kaminski enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. Witnessing a Cleveland sports championship remains his unfulfilled life-long dream.

I really like Dr Kaminski for my cardiologist. I was happy to be referred to him, but am saddened that he is moving to Beechwood. That is pretty far for me. I appreciate the fact that he is thorough, spends enough time with my visit, is very knowledgeable and explains everything, is helpful and is not condescending.

I am coming up on my year anniversay of my heart attack and I was feeling very axious. When I met with Dr. Kaminsky on Dec 13th he re assured me that I was in good health and he will make it his goal for me to be like that. If you had a page to rate him from 1 to 10 I would say 20!! He is truly amazing and I amn blessed with him as my Dr. I would travel to New Jersey if I had to see him! :)
