About Avrum Jacobs, MD

Avrum Jacobs, MD, is a staff physician in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. He practices at Hillcrest Hospital where he is Director of the echocardiography lab. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography and holds Level II certifications in echocardiography and nuclear cardiography and is trained in cardiac computed tomography (CT).

.Dr. Jacobs earned his undergraduate degree from Yeshiva University, New York, NY, and his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Md. He served a residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital followed by a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Chicago.

After completing his fellowship, he joined Cardiovascular Consultants of Cleveland, in Willoughby, Ohio. Since 2008 he has been in private practice with Cardiovascular Associates of Cleveland in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.

Dr. Jacobs has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals on his original research related to cardiac imaging. He also has published reviews, case reports and abstracts and has served as a manuscript reviewer for the American Journal of Cardiology and Women’s Health Journal.

Dr. Jacobs is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

My experience has been very positive with Dr. Avrum Jacobs and his office staff since I became his patient in September 2021. Everyone has been cordial, friendly, and helpful in scheduling an appointment or notifying me if an appointment has to be rescheduled. The staff works to schedule an appointment on days and times that are most convenient for me. As a patient, there is a feeling of mutual respect between patient and the doctor, and that is evident in the staff's ability to listen to any questions and to address them and be helpful.

I highly recommend Dr. Avrum Jacobs and his staff. Why? Because as a patient, I have always had a warm and friendly experience from checking in for my appointment to exiting and scheduling my next appointment. Any questions or concerns I may have are respectfully addressed. Dr. Jacobs listens carefully and explains any concerns I have about side effects I may experience from a RX and works with me to adjust dosage or prescribe another medication,. Iit is important ti feel comfortable with a doctor and I feel comfortable with Dr. Jacobs and his recommendations and care for my health and well being.

I have had outstanding care at Cleveland Clinic from first being diagnosed with Atrial Fib on Sept. 10,, 2021 and Dr. Jacobs became my cardiologist. Prior to Dr. Jacobs becoming my cardiologist, I received excellent care in the ER at Hillcrest Hospital and overnight monitoring. Dr. Jacobs became my cardiologist the next morning and performed to procedures on me that day that were successful and I was released that day. All the caregivers were excellent and worked as a well tuned team .Everything was explained about meds .that I would be taking . I truly received outstanding care at Hillcrest Hospital and from the Cleveland Clinic staff.

My EKG results which was done in the office when I came in were of concern to me and very worry some. I did not find out about the results until I saw them on my chart the next day. I don't understand why Dr. Jacobs did not discuss them with me. I am a retired ICCU nurse which he knew and could have been talked to in a professional manner.
