Biography

About Theresa Lash-Ritter, MD

Dr. Teri Lash-Ritter joined the Cleveland Clinic in 2011 practicing Urgent Care medicine and served as the Medical Director of Urgent and Express Care Clinics from 2013 – 2016. In that role, she developed a high quality network for acute care access through the expansion of Express Care services. In 2016, Dr. Lash-Ritter joined the Office of Patient Experience where she served as the Associate Chief Experience Officer for Akron General Health System and subsequently for all Regional Hospitals. In May 2019, Dr. Lash-Ritter was named Chief Medical Officer at Akron General. She is Clinical Faculty at the Center for Family Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Akron General as well as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, Ohio University College of Medicine and Northeast Ohio Medical University.

Dr. Lash-Ritter graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics in 1992. After working as a clinical dietitian, she started medical school at Northeast Ohio Medical University where she graduated with her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2002. Following completion of her residency in Family Medicine, she served as Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. Dr. Lash-Ritter completed her Masters in Business Administration at Case Western Reserve University in May 2017.

Dr. Lash-Ritter is active in professional organizations including the Ohio Academy of Family Practice, American Medical Group Association, Ohio Hospital Association and the Institute for Patient and Family Centered Care. Dr. Lash-Ritter also enjoys medical mission work and leads yearly trips to the Dominican Republic.
