Biography

About Monica Khot, MD

Monica B. Khot, MD, is a cardiologist in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute. Her clinical specialties include valvular heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, heart failure and prevention. She is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine and echocardiography.

Dr. Khot earned a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Master’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis on biomedical applications from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.). She was awarded her medical degree from Harvard Medical School where she was a member of the Harvard-M.I.T. Division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST) Program.

Dr. Khot completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa. followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Cleveland Clinic. Prior to her appointment to the Cleveland Clinic staff, Dr. Khot was with Indiana Heart Physicians, Indianapolis, Ind.

She is the author of a number of scientific papers published in leading medical journals, including Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Circulation and Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine. She also has served as a reviewer for the clinical endpoint committee for several nationally recognized clinical trials at Cleveland Clinic, including CREDO (Clopidogrel for Reduction of Events During Observation) and TARGET (Do Tirofiban and ReoPro Give Similar Efficacy Trial).

Dr. Monica Khot is an extremely dedicated and gifted physician. For the entire year that I have been her patient, I cannot say enough about how hard she worked to improve my medical issue and I am doing extremely well. I think of her as a friend.
