Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 11/23/2018, Dr. Lansang has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. doctor seems in quit the hurry to hurry me along

Reviewed on Sep 27, 2018

This time I didn't get to talk much with Dr. Lansang as there was another Dr (maybe intern?) who conducted most of my visit. which was a little uncomfortable and made it difficult to get to discuss other issues with my usual Dr.

Reviewed on Aug 28, 2018

Dr. Lansang is very thorough and explained everything to my satisfaction.

It was explained to me that Dr was running a bit behind. That was great, I knew what was happening.

Dr Langsang was very professional and took a lot of time to listen to my concerns. I felt like she genuinely cared about my health. I would highly recommend her and the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr Lansang is spectacular. I am motivated to see her and she is uplifting regarding my diabetes. Optimistic. Encouraging. I can't begin to say enough about her!

Reviewed on Jun 12, 2018

Dr. Lansang and the Cleveland Clinic staff are among the best providers I have experienced. Clear communication, kind, open to questions, considerate, compassionate, yet completely professional and rooted in science. It's a combination that is not always present in health care providers and it's clear that Cleveland Clinic values it. I've come to expect it based on Dr. Lansang and previous visits with other providers at the Cleveland Clinic.

The Dr. (of my choice) because I felt like I needed to see someone right away was very well qualified, etc. in her field. What I should have done was talked to (someone)? about all of my health issues, then made a decision about who I should see and asked how long it would take for the appointment. I could have seen other Doctors that day since my appointment was 7:45am-8am. and very short. The amount of time I spent traveling to and from Cleveland and the cost of the hotel, etc. was not worth my trip. I did type a letter with all my health issues and brought ALL of my hospital records (my stupidity) and didn't need anything except the last report on my blood work which was a year ago. I would have appreciated it if she just would have looked at the letter I typed to her but she said she would rather just talk to me directly. Fine, she told me what applied to my thyroid and what didn't. We talked about medication for my thyroid and I would be getting blood work. She would send my prescription in and I would receive it in the mail. That's it! I went home.
