Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 9/6/2018, Dr. McGannon has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. I did not mind the wait. If a patient needs the extra time, they are entitled to it. I do not mind waiting to see the doctor.

I think the DR overbooks patients, it took over 2.5 hrs for this appointment.

Dr. McGannon was 60 minutes behind schedule. No staff volunteered info until after another patient asked a nurse. I consider this irresponsible and disrespectful. I will not recommend this CCF Medical Practice to family or friends.

Just a few comments about my procedure. The staff at main campus at Cole Eye Center were very kind and calmed me down before I had surgery. They were understanding and took time to reassure me. For that I am most grateful. Dr Peter McGannon and the staff on Rockside were the best. He is a great doctor and surgeon. He is very patience and answered all my questions. My surgery went well and am pleased with the outcome. He surrounds himself with the best people. I cannot praise them enough. My overall experience was great. Please pass this message on to those people who deserve to be recognized.

*Dr. McGannon's office procedure for scheduling cataract surgery, PAT & follow-up appts. by an in-house scheduler is extremely efficient and easy. It was even more helpful to use this scheduler when an illness necessitated me to reschedule one of the cataract surgery appts. She is knowledgeable & unflappable! Thanks.

The nurse/assistant was wonderful. Dr. McGannon was also wonderful. They are a great team.
Reviewed on Apr 3, 2018
I felt the doctor was somewhat dismissive and a rather uncompassionate caregiver. The lion's share of the three hours I was there was spent being cared for by staff. The doctor's interaction was more or less, "hit and run." He was efficient and business-like but patronizing. He needs to develop better patient communication skills--especially listening. He came highly recommended and he and his staff are deserving of that but, as mentioned, his people skills are lacking

Excellent physician. He was able to explain to me about the drawbacks of my IOL implant and the reason that my vision clarity did not occur the way the manufacturer had touted the lens to perform. Dr. McGannon was able to honestly tell me what my previous opthalmolgist didn't want to admit. Thank you Dr. McGannon

He seems somewhat rushed as if e.g. to meet a 15 min. requirement of the clinic.

Will repeat what I said before about Dr. Peter McGannon. He treated me with respect, clear about his instructions to me and had a very pleasant demeanor. I would recommend him to any family or friends that have cornea issues.

Dr. McGannon is always very good about explaining things and providing information and choices regarding care. I never feel as though he is rushing me through the visit.
