About Scott Burg, DO

Scott R Burg, DO is a native of Cleveland Ohio. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of osteopathic medicine. He then came back to Cleveland and completed his training in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center followed by his fellowship in rheumatology at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals. Over a 20 year period he maintained a private practice on Cleveland’s east side and was Chief of Rheumatology at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. He joined Cleveland Clinic in 2010 and continued his relationship with Hillcrest Hospital where he is active in both inpatient and out-patient services. He is also an elected Member-at-Large on the Medical Executive Committee at Hillcrest.

In addition to his rheumatologic duties he is a Titleist Performance Expert Level 3 and treats golf related injuries through Cleveland Clinic’s Return to Gold program. He was also part of the medical team treating both golfers and the Gallery at the 2009 senior PGA Championship and the 2012 US Women’s Amateur events in Cleveland.

He has three adult children and his wife is a Dermatologist in the Cleveland area. He is an avid photographer and golfer.

communication could be better between Doctors and front desk regarding prescription refills. dr said to tell the front desk, front desk said they don't do it and to call a number.

*Dr. Burg picked up on a UTI I had and didn't realize.

I went to the lab for a blood draw which went well. The next day got a call saying the blood samples were time sensitive and I needed to come back for another blood draw. How does this happen? I live 50 miles away. This is no reflection on Dr Burg and his staff they were wonderful . The lab needs help with their procedures

I was treated very well by all, BUT after a THREE MONTH wait to see the doctor, I got a TEN minute doctor consultation and a TWO AND A HALF MINUTE follow up phone call to inform me I can't be helped.

Dr. Burg has a great team of people working with him. They always try to meet my schedule and Dr. Burg returns any calls I've made to him over the years to answer my questions. I always feel like my health is their priority. It's very refreshing!

I only see Dr Burg once a year, but he is always up to speed on my case and what has been going on with previous visits to nurse practitioner. He always takes a lot of time and explains everything and answers any questions.
