Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 11/25/2016, Dr. Mulligan has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr. Mulligan is a great communicator. He provides understandable answers to my questions, listens thoughtfully to my concerns, and engages me in developing a plan for ongoing care.

Best Dr's visit ever very helpful and understanding, really concerned about trying to figure out my problems and going above and beyond my expectations
Reviewed on Jan 30, 2017
but I am a clinical dietitian, and Dr. Mulligan treats me as another professional. I suspect, however, he would be good at explaining things to a non-health care person.

I had to wait a while for Dr Mulligan, but he was unhurried and spent time talking to me about the reasons I was there and showed me online what the problems were.

Dr. Mulligan has, by far, exceeded my expections as an endocrinologist . He spends a good amount of time going over my test results, on how I have been feeling and any concerns or questions I have. Dr. Mulligan genuinely cares about his patients and spends as much time as needed to cover everything! I also really appreciate the fact that he allows me to be a part of my treatment. Over the past 8 years I have seen 3 other Endo's and he has been the most knowledgeable and professional.

Dr Mulligan is one of the most compassionate, caring and knowledgeable Drs I have ever been in contact with. I would recommend him to anyone who needed an Endocrinologist.

Dr was very concerned that I understood instructions and if I had any questions that he could help with answers.

Dr. Mulligan is an excellent, caring doctor. My condition is complicated and, unlike certain other CCF physicians I have visited over the past several years, he is open-minded, patient and willing to look into new methods of treatment. Dr. Mulligan treats me with respect and sincerely tries to understand my medical issues and concerns. He is everything a physician should be.

Doctor was considerate of the cost of any changes to my medicines he suggested making; very important to a retiree.

A GREAT doctor!
Reviewed on Jul 8, 2016
As stated earlier, I feel that the Dr. did not include me in the decisions made (or the lab, either) as the Dr. knew that the blood tests requested were from the past. About my on-going medication (Synthyroid) he did give me knowledgeable info and consulted with me. The test he requested for the bone density test was right on.
