Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 1/5/2018, Dr. Brobbey has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Wanted to schedule an appointment for an annual checkup and couldn't do it for 5 months because of Dr B's busy schedule

I was looking for a new primary care doctor and chose *Dr. Brobbey after reviewing information on CC's website. Because I was a new patient. I think it was about 4 months from the time I made the appointment until I could get in for a routine physical. That was longer than I thought it would be. But she was worth the wait!

I love Dr. Brobbey. In all my years having doctors she is the most attentive, thoughtful, informative & best at extrapolating information. She doesn't try to make symptoms fit if they don't. Cleveland Clinic is extremely lucky to have a doctor of her caliber!

Didn't mind waiting-know she is busy, and that she will take extra time with me as she may be doing with others, if it is necessary. She is always warm, considerate and caring in her attitude with her patients. I am so glad to have her as my primary care physician.

Although I asked about the Prevnar 13 side effects, the nurse told me everything should be okay, and no one else had called about any side effects, but I have suffered, and still going through this, though it seems to be subsiding some.

*Dr. Victoria Brobbey has a great practice and staff. I am very happy with her. I have a lot of respect for her level of knowledge.

Reviewed on Nov 16, 2017

Dr. Brobbey is amazing. She is smart, open, genuine and cares for her patients. We aren't a number to her. My only complaint is not with Dr. Brobbey, it is with the clinic. It is extremely difficult to get an appointment sooner than 3 months out. Most of the time I can't wait that long so I am stuck seeing someone who doesn't know anything about me.
