Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 3/1/2021, Dr. Chung has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr Chung always seems to take the time to explain things if needed and we've come to know each other a little over the last couple years. He does a great job.

Follow up visit was very satisfactory. Dr. Chung was competent, friendly and was encouraging with his prognosis.

the visit was a waste of my time, so disappointing. a terrible experience as a new patient to Dr. Chung. No vitals, questions, physical exam (listen to heart lungs). I had the printout of my medications and had 4 items to discuss as I normally do with my CC Physicians. He asked me no questions nothing. He was in/out of the room in less than 10 minutes.
Reviewed on Apr 30, 2021
based on this experience I cannot and will not recommend this physician to anyone. He did not listen to my heart/lungs, my vitals were not taken prior to him coming into the exam room.

Dr. Chung seemed genuinely concerned for my well-being. He homed in on the important parts of the records I brought with me, and let me know what was not included but essential to him, so that I could obtain those items. Dr. Chung definitely went above and beyond what I expected, helping me to make immediate decisions about pressing travel needs. He also arranged for me to see an electrophysiologist who was a trusted colleague in the city of my primary residence.

Dr Chung actually contacted me after getting results from my wearing a monitor!
Reviewed on Mar 5, 2021
Dr. Chung was recommended to me by my primary Atrial Fibrillation cardiologist, Dr. Lawrence Jacobs. They discussed my situation and Dr. Chung discussed options with me. While he is very thorough, he does tend to speak very rapidly, which makes it a little difficult to understand him, but he repeats things for me. He's very kind.

This was my first visit with Dr. Roy Chung, he was very polite & considerate of my concerns as well as the issues I am having with my pacemaker & heartbeats. Assured me he would find a way to resolve the issues. I am very happy to have him as my doctor. I wanted to have my doctor near my home and Dr. Chung at the Strongsville Health Center is perfect. Plus if I need to see him when he is not at the Strongsville office I should be able to see him at the Avon office. It is a little farther to go but still better for me then the Main Campus.
