I did not get the opportunity to speak to my doctor one on one...3-4 others were brought into the exam room. I had concerns about a lump that has been causing me some discomfort and I was so distracted by all these people trying to shoe-horn me into psoriatic arthritis and participating in some sort of arthritis study that I did not have a comfortable moment to speak to Dr. Fernandez. I do not appreciate being made to feel like a number or nuisance.

Reviewed on Apr 16, 2019

I was on time (not late) and I was greeted by the nurse/assistant and another person (who appeared to be in training) I was given a gown, asked to remove all clothing except underwear and then I was freezing in the exam room for what seemed like 20 minutes waiting for the doctor. When he entered, others accompanied him further making me uncomfortable. I was being hit with a barrage of questions about something else other than my concerns about what is happening to my skin and a lump in my skin...This came off as I was of no importance and that the purpose of my appointment was for the doctor to show-off and my expense. I found this to be upsetting and made to feel like I was just a teaching tool...sad...

I was loaded in to an exam room by a nurse, who left me there for two hours with no communication. I was not informed of any delay or offered any hope of eventually seeing the doctor. I wandered into the hallway and was told by a different nurse that this happens often. When the doctor arrived with students in tow, he was not impressed with my symptoms and told me that they were probably psychosomatic. He had never heard of the problems I described, and said that I should "just live with it". Condescending and arrogant, he then hurried out of the room after teaching his students that this patient wasn't important enough for medical treatment. My two-hour drive to Cleveland was wasted.
