We’re here for you throughout your entire journey — from preconception care and pregnancy to follow-up care and checkups. Pregnancy care

From your first appointment to delivery, we focus on what you want from your experience. Building a relationship based on trust is an important part of kicking off your care. We want you to know that you can ask us anything. And that we’ll be there to support you every step of the way. Whether this is your first pregnancy, or if you’re looking for something new this time, our team will make sure you’re involved in the decisions when it comes to your care. In fact, shared decision-making is a cornerstone of midwifery care.

At your first appointment, we’ll go over your personal and family health histories. And we’ll want to know what your expectations are for your pregnancy. You’ll also learn about the prenatal tests we’ll do, what to expect and when to expect them.

Even though it might feel like it’s still a long way off, we’ll talk with you about what you’re hoping for when you go into labor and give birth. We explain all your options and help support you so that you feel comfortable with your birthing plan. It’s important to remember that the health of you and your fetus are our focus. If something happens during labor and delivery that changes your plan, we’re right there for you. Our goal is a safe delivery. We’ll help prepare you for this, so you feel as ready as possible when the day comes.

We’ll not only cover the types of childbirth, but also your pain medication options. There’s no judgement when it comes to your choice to have or not to have pain medication. We want you to feel confident with your decision and we’ll support you in your choice. Some of the options we offer include:

• A planned, unmedicated vaginal birth.
• A planned vaginal birth with an epidural.
• Labor that’s been induced.
• A planned cesarean birth (C-section).
• An emergency C-section.

Post-partum support

After you’ve given birth, the whole world can feel like it revolves around the newest member of your family. But you still need care. Our midwives are there for you. We offer post-partum care and follow-up appointments as you recover from childbirth. We’ll make sure you’re ready to go home, help you understand what to expect as your body changes again and what symptoms to watch out for. If you have questions — or concerns that something’s not quite right — we’ll be there to help.

Routine care

But what if I’m not pregnant? Can I still see a midwife? Absolutely. The care you can expect from a midwife extends beyond pregnancy and childbirth. Our midwives can help do a Pap test and yearly pelvic exam for you. They can go over birth control options, so you can find the best one for you. They can also discuss any reproductive health concerns you may have and guide you through your next steps.

There are times in life when you want someone by your side who gets what you’re going through and is there to support you no matter what. Whether you’re pregnant or looking for someone to provide routine care for you, a midwife can be that someone. Our midwives are passionate about what they do and will guide you through your care with empathy and understanding.
