How will this affect my appointment at Cleveland Clinic's main campus?

Your appointments and procedures will continue as scheduled, but we're asking for all of our patients to be a bit flexible. If you're coming to our main campus for an appointment, please plan your commute with these disruptions in mind and allow plenty of extra time for any travel delays. Considering cancelling or rescheduling your appointment? Please check with your provider first to see if you can have a virtual visit instead.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as Cleveland shines in the national spotlight.

Will family members or other visitors be allowed to accompany me to my appointment at Cleveland Clinic's main campus?

Our health safety precautions remain important as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. While the presidential debate has not altered our visitation policy, restrictions remain in place to limit the spread of COVID-19. For the most up-to-date visitor guidelines, please visit clevelandclinic.org/visitation.

Why was Cleveland Clinic's campus selected as the host site?

Cleveland Clinic has an existing relationship with the Commission on Presidential Debates, the nonpartisan organization that produces presidential debates. We serve as the health security advisor for all four 2020 general election debates. Our role is to guide a safe environment for debates during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In July, the University of Notre Dame withdrew as the debate host, due to complexities related to the pandemic. This created an urgent need.

Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) stepped forward as the new host because it is our civic responsibility. Serving as a debate host is a great opportunity for us to shine a light on our organization, mission and community.

How is Cleveland Clinic keeping patients, visitors and caregivers safe during the week of the debate?

The safety of our patients and caregivers remains our top priority.

We are working closely with our Cleveland Clinic police department, CWRU and University Circle police departments as well as the Cleveland Division of Police and the U.S. Secret Service to maintain a safe environment leading up to and during the debate.

Additionally, health safety precautions remain in place as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Temperature checks, mandatory masking, physical distancing, hand hygiene and frequent cleaning will continue during the event. Our facilities remain limited to patients, approved visitors and caregivers. For the latest visitor policy, visit clevelandclinic.org/coronavirus.

Parking and Transportation

Parking and Transportation

Beginning Saturday, September 26, we will be temporarily moving our hospital main entrance to East 96th Street. This will support street closures associated with the Presidential Debate and enable us to continue to provide you uninterrupted health services. Our main hospital entrance on Euclid Avenue will reopen on Thursday, October 1.

Patients and visitors are advised to use P-2 Parking Garage, our patient garage located on East 100th Street. While we expect that there will be unusually high congestion on Carnegie Avenue due to street closures associated with the Presidential Debates, we believe that self-parking in the P-2 garage will best support your arrival and departure.

You may approach the P-2 Parking Garage from Carnegie Avenue or Cedar Avenue. For your convenience, please use the following address for locating our P-2 garage using GPS technologies: 2101 East 100th Street, Cleveland, OH 44106.

There is a connected skyway from our P-2 garage to our main hospital. As always, our Redcoats will be available to help you navigate to your appointment.

We will use our Q Building - Glickman Tower entrance as our temporary hospital entrance. Please use this address when using GPS technologies: 2050 East 96th Street, Cleveland, OH 44195. All access to our hospital will be via East 100th Street from Carnegie Avenue. There will be no direct access to East 96th Street from Carnegie Avenue. We will offer valet services at our temporary hospital entrance. Please follow the directions of police officers and valet team members when entering East 100th Street north of Carnegie Avenue. The parking garage at C Building - W.O. Walker Center remains open.
